If She Dies by Erik Therme / #Review @ErikTherme

Nine months ago, Tess’s five-year-old daughter was killed in a car accident. The driver, Brady Becker, was sentenced to two years in prison. It didn’t make Tess’s pain go away.

Brady also has a daughter: A twelve-year-old named Eve who walks to Chandler Middle School every day. Tess knows this because she’s been watching Eve for the last three weeks. It isn’t fair that Brady’s daughter gets to live, while Tess’s daughter does not.

When Eve goes missing, all eyes turn to Tess, who doesn’t have an alibi. But Tess isn’t guilty.

Or so she believes..

Review

Something devastating happens and it turns not only your life upside down, but it also changes a lot for the culprit and his family. There is no doubt about it: the culprit has to get his punishment, but although his entourage is innocent, they are sentenced too.

Emotions and how to deal with them… There are no rules of course. Everybody has to find their own way out of this deep dark pit. Some will shut the world out and rather work it all out on their own. Others need support and reach out, but realise there is nobody there. A third group sees this tragedy as a means to escape hell, no matter who they hurt in the process.

This is about family lost and found again, a good marriage suffering because of a tragedy and much more. Lies, deceit, guilty feelings are only a few of the emotions that glue this great story together.

Even though she lies a lot, there is one person you know is innocent, but what about the others? I did not know who to trust at all.

When I read the first few pages, I thought the author would take me in a  certain direction, but boy, was I wrong. 😉 I never saw this coming 🙂 4 stars

Thank you, Erik Therme
