The Wives of Crimson Avenue by Sadie Ryan / #Interview #BlogTour @zooloo2008 @SpellboundBks @The__SadieRyan

Ladies. Are you a perfect wife wanting to live in suburban utopia?

Then Crimson Avenue is for you!

Come and join other like-minded women in our idyllic community.

We might even let you into our little secret…

When a striking young woman turns up to Adele Love’s antique shop acting suspiciously and gives her a cryptic message …

Tell Sam that they know…

On leaving the shop, to Adele’s horror, the woman is bundled into a white van and abducted.

Beginning a search for the missing woman, DI Vincent Sullivan and DS Josephine Jenkins conduct their house-to-house investigations, which lead them into a sinister world of diamond smuggling and drugs, all happening behind the perfect façade of Crimson Avenue.

As the pressure mounts with the severity of the crimes committed, the wives close ranks and deny all knowledge.

But just as cracks begin to appear and the women start to turn on each other, they realise there’s also the small problem of Adele’s secret, which could get them all killed…

When and where do you prefer to write?

I tend to write in the evenings and late on after 10pm. I write for 20mins bursts of full concentration after that I need a ten-minute break so I usually look at my social media or google random places I’d like to travel to one day or check out new handbags—I love handbags! I write in the lounge on my laptop or in the kitchen. I like this time of writing, the house is quiet and I find it’s when my mind can focus.

Do you need peace and quiet when you are writing?

Semi peace and quiet, I usually have instrumental smooth sax jazz in the background. If it’s too quiet, my mind wonders.

If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?

Mmm that’s a hard one because I have many authors I love to read. I think I would go for Louise Candlish.

Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

Oh that’s easy, the bad one for sure they always have the most interesting parts. LOL.

Who would you like/have liked to interview?

Well now this is tricky, I would love to have interviewed Bette Davies, she was a legend in her time, she opened so many doors for women and most of all I loved how she truly believed in herself and didn’t bow down to all the hierarchy around her. She nearly always go her way. Present day, I would like to interview Cate Blanchett; she has such a great sense of humour and is a brilliant actor.

Where can I find you when you are reading?

Actually reading you’ll find me in bed, I tend to listen to books more these days as it gives me real flexibility and I can listen to a book anywhere, driving to work, walking my dog, doing the dreaded supermarket shot(I hate this) there’s nowhere you can’t listen to an audio book!

Where can I find you wen you are not writing/reading?

It depends on the time of year, in the summer usually in my garden pottering or chilling out watching TV. I love TV it allows me to switch off which is good because usually my resting mind is normally working out plot lines—it never stops!

What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

Ah it’s a wonderful feeling. I feel quite emotional really. I like to stroke it an awful lot, which probably makes me sound weird. Every time a new one comes out, I’m the same.

How do you come up with a title for your book?

Mmm, sometimes the title comes first before the book; it just pops into my head. Other times I work calling it WIP and it comes while I’m writing but I have to have a title even if it’s just a working title, it’s an oddity of mine that bugs me.

How do you pick a cover for your book?

I don’t, my publisher does and Spellbound I think are the best at covers. They tend to avoid the mainstream look-a-likes out there and are bold enough to go with something different. I love that they make the books stand out.

Thank you, Sadie Ryan and Zooloo’s Book Tours
