Surgeons save lives everyday, but sometimes something goes wrong and they are devastated. A patient dying in their OR is horrible and they know they did not do anything wrong. Why did it happen?
But what if they are responsible? Not by doing anything wrong per se, but by not doing everything they could have done and give up too soon? But can you give up too soon when you are convinced there was nothing more you could have done or could you…?
When a patient dies it’s horrible, but when the ASA comes after you, you don’t know what is going to happen. You fear the worst though. There is nothing left for you to do. You have to find out what was going on, because something does not add up.
Why? is the question that keeps going through your mind.On the other hand you made the world a better place once you knew who you were operating on. Will everybody share that thought though…?
People often lie and cheat because they are after something. Some of them are pretty clear in what they want. Others have a very deeply hidden agenda…
I loved this book. I admire the author for the research she has done. I felt like now I am able to do the operation myself. 😉
I was not one of Paula’s fans, but in the end I did understand what her reasons were. She was following her heart, but did not think things through. I felt for her.
Derreck is something else though. He knows what he wants too and he must be thinking that a bit of blackmail is the way to go.
