The Love Virus by Eleni Cay / #Interview #BlogTour @fly_press @EleniCay

When Katie finds out that her increasingly unresponsive legs and extreme fatigue is due to Multiple Sclerosis, she rides an emotional rollercoaster – anger, denial and fear – when faced with a wheelchair-bound existence. She puts her studies at Oxford on hold, and she splits up from her fiancé, Mark, even though she still loves him. While undergoing treatment, Katie is diagnosed with MS2 – a virus that paralyses the mind. In hospital, Katie has to cope with her irritating bedfellows who argue constantly, and where she is treated by Dr Andrews, a handsome psychologist. The closer she gets to him however, the worse her pain becomes. Compounding Katie’s struggle is Mark, who returns to her bedside day after day. Once Katie begins Dr Andrews’ new experimental MS2 treatment, Mark can’t recognise her anymore. He begins to wonder if Katie will ever be cured.

Book Trailer

1. Do you always take a book/e-reader wherever you go?

No, I don’t. In fact, I usually don’t carry much, not even my keys or phone, which tends to annoy people 😉

2. Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

Can they use my birth name for the good one and my pen name for the bad character?

3. Where can I find you when you are reading?

I do a lot of reading for my job, so the honest answer is in my office. As for poetry reading that would be in my bed.

4. Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

Outside in the nature or inside with my harp.

5. Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

6. What are you most proud of?

For climbing Mont Blanc with a half-frozen leg.

7. What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

Gratefulness that I could nurture my thoughts up to this stage and hope that they can now continue the journey without me.

8. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Read, write, read, and look beyond the borders of your craft and heart.

9. Who would you like/have liked to interview?

Ocean Vuong

10. When and where do you prefer to write?

Before dawn, by a tree trunk.

Thank you, Eleni Cay and Fly on the Wall Press
