Dean Matheson #3
Detective Dean Matheson has returned to his hometown to begin his new job and put the traumatic events of his past behind him – but his fresh start won’t last long when the local area is hit by a series of strange disappearances and twisted killings …
A nameless girl badly beaten and dumped in front of the mysterious new church. A shocking murder scene discovered in the apartment over the diner. A child missing without a trace.
These are the crimes Dean Matheson is confronted with in his first week as detective. Are they isolated events, or is something altogether more disturbing happening in Maple Valley now that Dean’s back in town?
My Review
Starting his new job in his hometown, Detective Dean Matheson is glad to be back and so are we.
He has a tumultuous past and he hopes he can leave it all behind, but is that possible at all?
In this third part of the series he is still trying to deal with the effects of what he has been through and the present is not really kind to him. People often keep secrets to protect someone, but that someone can see it in a very different way. They might not thank you for keeping quiet, but rather feel betrayed.
Don’t mess with Dean or his friends, because he is alive and kicking. You might think twice about double-crossing him. He will find out the truth, deal with the baddies and support the ones who need it the most.
Another great story by this author and usually I have a name in mind to put the blame on. This time I was utterly shocked by the revelation. I never saw that coming. I love it when that happens. 5 stars
