Did or do you like to read comic books/grapic novels? Which ones?
I used to read Jackie magazine as a child but have never been into graphic novels.
Whom did you inherit your love for books/reading from?
I am one of four siblings and we were all encouraged by our parents to read from a young age. I was a voracious reader of everything by Enid Blyton and Beatrix Potter.
When you need a murder victim or someone you can diagnose with a serious disease or someone who is involved in a fatal accident do you sometimes picture someone nasty you have met in real life and think ‘got you’ LOL!
I write romantic comedy and haven’t murdered anyone yet. Ha! However, there are a couple of characters who may have got some of their not so nice traits from people who have crossed my path, yes.
How do you come up with the names for your characters?
I quite often look for names on tv and film credits. Also, I look in graveyards for anything original. My heroine always has a short name, or one I can shorten as I type it so many times.
Do write other things beside books (and shopping lists 😉 )?
I quite often write notes in my phone when I’m out and about if I get an idea for my books.
If your movie or series would be made from your books, would you be happy with the ‘based on’ version or would you rather like they showed it exactly the way you created it?
It is so hard to get a movie or series commissioned; I would be extremely flattered however it was produced.
Who would you like/have liked to interview?
I would have liked to interview the very elusive Harper Lee
Do you have certain people you contact while doing research to pick their brains? What are they specialized in?
It depends what I am writing about really. I spoke to a Lifeboat lady for some research for one of my Cockleberry books. But mainly I find out what I need to online.
Is there someone you sometimes discuss a dilemma with?
Depending on the dilemma, close friends or my sisters.
What is more important to you: a rating in stars with no comments or a reviewer who explains what the comments they give are based on (without spoilers of course)
It’s great to good stars, of course, however I love reading comments, as even if they are not so good, I can generally learn from them. It is unbelievable, that at the time of writing this I now have 4200 reviews on Amazon for the Cockleberry series.
