As more bodies surface, Beth finds tiny traces of boat paint present on each victim. It’s a critical lead that links these attacks back to a tragic accident involving a group of school children years ago.
Faced with a killer hungry for revenge, and with her own life spiralling out of control, it’s going to take every ounce of skill and determination for Beth to catch this monster before he takes another innocent life. But will Beth realise he’s been right beside her all along?
My Review
Part 2 in this splendid series and I still love Beth Adams. She is strong, believes in what she does, is not the most patient and maybe a tad (ahum) headstrong but always for a good cause.
If you have read part 1 a while ago, it’s not always easy to remember exactly what the book was about. No panic, the author will fill you in so you get that ping-oh-yes-I-remember-moment. For those you have not had the time to read the previous story, no worries. The information the author gives is just enough to make you run to the bookstore and buy it because your interest will be piqued.
The short chapters give the story the same speed as a TGV. Even if, for some reason, you have to stop reading, you still manage to squeeze in one more chapter, and maybe even one more, …
The writing stylie is fluent. I was under the story’s spell from the first chapter and of course I was, once again, betting on the wrong horse. 5 stars
