From the moment she met him, Ella Peterson had questions. As always, though, she’s too shy to ask.
Older and sexy as hell, mysterious Adam Brook soon sweeps sheltered Ella off her feet; but is he as perfect as he appears to be, or is there more to him than he’s telling her?
Ella’s world has already turned upside down after moving from England to rural Kansas. She and her sisters were hoping for a more secure future, but instead find that life can be tough when jobs are scarce and the stakes often higher than anticipated.
When events spiral out of Ella’s control, she learns the person she needs to rely on most is herself and her instincts on who to trust in the future.
It’s just that her instincts are screaming at her to trust Adam; it’s what he tells her that makes that a problem.
– When and where do you prefer to write?
I write whenever I can and it’s quiet. This is often early in the morning or late at night, being a mother and having a day job means I don’t always have the luxury of choosing when I prefer to write, it’s more of a case of ‘whenever I can’.
– Do you have a certain ritual?
No, not at all, but I am starting to leave my mobile phone in other parts of the house when it’s pure ‘writing time’, then I’m not as distracted by social media.
– Is there a drink of some food that keeps you company while you write?
In the mornings, you can’t beat a builder’s brew! In the evenings, usually juice or a white wine spritzer often finds it’s way to my laptop station with me.
– What is your favourite book?
Dirty Like Me by Jaine Diamond (followed closely by Sylvia Day’s Crossfire series)
– Do you consider writing a different genre in the future?
Historical fiction holds a certain appeal, but I think I’ll always be a romance writer at heart, that’s where my passion is (pun intended!).
– Do you sometimes base your characters on people you know?
No, although if there are some especially strong characteristics in someone, I may take that as a starting point.
– Do you take a notebook everywhere in order to write down ideas that pop up?
Usually yes, particularly by my bed as I get most of my inspiration before I fall asleep at night, although I always have my mobile with me and also use the notes app.
– Which genre do you not like at all?
I would say memoirs hold very little interest for me. Having said that, for the same reason I’ve never read one, so perhaps that’s not a fair statement.
– If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?
Jaine Diamond, Chystal Caswell or Ryan Kendall.
– If you should travel to a foreign country to do research, which one would you chose and why?
Definitely America because my Falling For You series is set in Kansas.
