Perfume Paradiso by Janey Jones / #Interview #BlogTour @LoveBooksGroup @janeyjones23

One week in Italy. One week to make her dreams come true . . .

Romance is the last thing on Charlotte Alexander’s mind. Her perfume business is flourishing. And a glamorous new life in New York awaits. Just one more thing is needed: a supply of artisan lavender for her trademark scent.

But when Charlotte stumbles across the infuriating and infuriatingly handsome Alessio Rossini, her plans begin to fall apart. With New York finally in reach . . . should she follow her dreams or her heart?

A captivating, feelgood summer romance set in the beautiful Italian countryside.

Q&A

1. Do you always take a book/e-reader wherever you go?

No, I dislike snatched or interrupted reading of a novel or biography. I will plan to read peacefully at home.

2. Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

Good! I hate being disliked. It’s a failing. I’m not proud if it!

3. Where can I find you when you are reading?

In my bedroom which is my haven in a busy household.

4. Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

Beach, woodland walk, café.

5. Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

No! I love them. Hay and Wigtown are heaven for me – endless book shops.

6. What are you most proud of?

(Apart from my children) Being published in several languages and helping some children get into reading.

7. What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

I check everything, especially the quality of the paper and jacket. Yes, I feel proud but less so once you have several books published. There is nothing like the first one!

8. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Find every last ounce of determination and self-belief. It’s hard but not impossible. Don’t let anyone put you off. Also, be honest with yourself. If your book is a retelling of a childhood favourite, for example, it isn’t going to be relevant now.

9. Who would you like/have liked to interview?

Dorothy Parker. I’m obsessed with her New York years.

10. When and where do you prefer to write?

Morning and evening. Now that I work on a laptop, I do move around the house!
