The key to his past…
…lies with the enemy sharing his bed!
Part of The Lochmore Legacy: a Scottish castle through the ages! Rory Lochmore had expected to wage battle, to claim land and finally secure his standing within his clan… Instead he won a wife. A McCrieff wife. Their convenient marriage could unite the two long-feuding clans forever. But can a political alliance give way to a passion strong enough to stand the secrets of the past?
– When and where do you prefer to write?
I tend to go to museums. They’re busy, but no one is interrupting you. They’re comfortable, but no one is giving you the evil stare for your seat. And when you’re done writing, you can go look at something interesting.
– Do you have a certain ritual?
I wish I did, I really, really do. It would save me so much grief of late at night or 3am writing bouts. Unfortunately, I think that 3am writing time is here to stay….
– Is there a drink or some food that keeps you company while you write?
Popcorn. Vats and vats of it from 8 am to midnight, but usually only when I know I’m not going to sit at the keyboard long enough. Most often popcorn’s frequent sidekick is tea. Lots and lots of tea.
– What is your favourite book?
Anything that I’m reading lately. That includes the entire #LochmoreLegacy. I so wanted to read what the other authors, Janice Preston, Lara Temple, and Elisabeth Hobbes wrote and see how the mystery and romance entwined throughout the centuries. Before that? Oh, boy I’ve been binge reading sci-fi romance. So any recommendations would be appreciated!
– Do you consider writing a different genre in the future?
All the time! What I love about Medieval romance is that it’s raw with no boundaries. My characters don’t care for grand balls, fancy dresses or formality, so that lends well for anything from gladiators to boardrooms.
– Do you sometimes base your characters on people you know?
I wish I could write more people I know into my stories. I do use their mannerisms, but my stories tend to be pages and pages of you know what. So I think I’d get in trouble!
– Do you take a notebook everywhere in order to write down ideas that pop up?
I do take a notebook. In fact, I’m using one now. The issue is if I can read what I wrote when I get home (P.S. with this post I struggled!).
– Which genre do you not like at all?
I have read thousands of romances in every genre. From sweet romance to absolute, well…have you read Kate Pearce’s books? If the characters, conflicts, and HEA are there, I’m all in.
– If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?
It’d have to be with someone who writes faster than me and can kick my butt so I’m not eating popcorn, reading, or drinking tea, but actually writing!
– If you should travel to a foreign country to do research, which one would you chose and why?
I’ve been very lucky on travel. I lived in London for 11+ years, and everything from there is a hop, skip and a jump. But I’d truly like to spend time in Egypt because my #LoversandLegends series is taking me there!
