It was the most anticipated summer break of their young lives.
For Bran Lampshire, that summer of 1986 would be far different. The lure of a wilderness adventure sends him and his friends on a troublesome journey that would see them far from home and into the isolated shadows of the Sleathton Estate. In a forgotten land where nature thrives, an unexplained mist settles upon the shaded grounds. And stories were told of events so chilling, they were forcibly buried over time.
Lose yourself beneath the endless trees. And discover that legends are sometimes so much more than ghost stories.
When and where do you prefer to write?
I tend to write in the kitchen or the summer house at the bottom of the garden.
Do you need peace and quiet when you are writing?
Yes, my writing time is between 11pm and 2am.
If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?
I’m currently co-writing a book; thou I can’t say with who just yet…
Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?
The bad one 😉
Who would you like/have liked to interview?
Someone classical. I think I’d have to go for Dickens.
Where can I find you when you are reading?
usually on the sofa or in the garden.
Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?
Spending time with the wife and kids 😊
What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?
Please God! I hope people will enjoy it.
How do you come up with a title for your book?
I usually make a list and then cut it down. Then I usually run this list past a few people at QMP to see which is preferred.
How do you pick a cover for your book?
I’ve always been pleased with my covers. These are done by cover designers that Qmp use. I give a little description and they create what I want perfectly.
Thank you, Matt Rayner and Zooloo’s Book Tours
