As a child caroling at Christmas was one of our favorite things. We lived in a small town and knew most of our neighbors so it was extra special, and less embarrassing. A group of friends, and my siblings and I would go door to door and sing traditional Christmas songs outside peoples homes in the snow. I didn’t realize then how Rockwell-esque it all was. Sometimes the nice people even gave us money, which allowed us to buy gifts for our parents and friends. I remember how good it felt to sing and then also buy special presents for the people I love.
