Danje by Gitte Tamar / #Spotlight #RelaseBlitz @RABTBookTours @brigittetamar

In a small Louisiana Bayou town during mid-September 1965, Albert Gilly frantically prepares his family’s fishing store for an impending hurricane. Amid the chaos, he notices Adonis, a drifter, lying motionless on the street. With the wind raging and debris swirling violently around them, Albert’s mind is consumed with thoughts of his family and their dependence on him as the sole breadwinner. Knowing that they would be destitute without him, he makes the painful decision to prioritize his own safety over rescuing the stranger. As Albert stands in his shop’s doorway, the weight of his guilt is almost suffocating, causing him to hesitate before locking himself inside. He shouts one last time, urging the young man to seek shelter in his late father’s houseboat at the end of the pier. Adonis is startled awake by his words, his mind still hazy, as he struggles through the strong winds until arriving at the floating sanctuary. However, his relief is short-lived upon discovering the sinister secrets concealed within the old wooden walls.

Listen, Share, and Be Nice by Ashley Chadwick / #Spotlight #BookBlitz @RABTBookTours

The lost art of mannerisms

These three words: Listen, Share and be Nice can be basic cornerstones for your child’s growth and development. Teaching your toddler is a daily routine. Using the same mannerisms towards them every day establishes a routine that they become accustomed to. Iif you stick to this routine daily, it teaches and reminds your child to be nice to others and to those in your family. But parents do not expect a miracle in 24 hours give it time… It will take six months to a year to see the effect in your child’s behavior. Just repeat, repeat, repeat your words of action.

Politeness is spoken worldwide and in every language, whether in public or private. The simplicity of kindness teaches that everyone matters in this world. These three children’s books (“Please, Thank You and Excuse Me,” “Listen, Share, and Be Nice,” and “Animal Etiquette for Kids”) are lighthearted and geared for all ages. Mannerisms must start somewhere, so why not parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, and caregivers show our children mutual respect for all people, places, and things?

This series of children’s books is a fun way to re-introduce manners into your children’s lives. It’s cool to be polite and kind to everyone.

About the Author

Fliss Chester lives in a little village in Surrey, UK, and writes historical cozy crime. When she is not killing people off in her 1920s and 1940s whodunnits, she helps her husband, who is a wine merchant, run their family business. This means she’s never far from a decent glass of something, which makes her very happy indeed.

Before writing her two cozy crime series, she wrote fun and flirty romances – the sort of thing that might make your mother blush. Not hers though, as it was her mother who always encouraged her to be ‘anything you want, darling, as long as it’s not dull’. Hopefully readers will attest to the fact that whether it’s death by cyanide or a smooch in a hot tub, there’s nothing dull about Fliss’s books.

Review

In gangland crimes yu can find two types of characters or maybe it’s just one type after all…? I know this sounds very confusing, but let me explain how I see it. 🙂

There are the good ones who are in fact bad ones, and on the other side there are the bad ones who are in fact bad ones. What is the difference then?

Well, the good ones have other feelings than those connected with violence. They have a heart and are able to love other people. And I can assure you that they will move heaven and earth to protect them.

The bad ones don’t have a heart and are not really capable of love towards other beings. The only have one true love called violence…

The Tempest and the Carter family are the good ones, but they are hard as nails when needed and soft as butter when needed. The Murphy’s are hard as nails. Full stop.

So if you are a fan of this genre or are new to the genre, I would like to invite you to try one of this author’s books. She really is one of my favourites in the gangland department.

I enjoyed this book enormously and I hope to be able to read the next one soon. I have to admit I sometimes had to swallow a few times, but the stories are so good that I just don’t want to miss out on any of them. 5 stars

Thank you

About the author

I write gritty gangland thrillers which are set in Essex, and the East End of London.

My novels are based on strong family dynamics, strong men, and of course equally strong women who are not afraid to give as good as they get.

The characters in my books are often colourful, larger than life personalities, who you will either love or love to hate. Some of them may even make you cry, but most of all you will root for the heroes of my books to dish out their own form of retribution.

My novels offer readers a glimpse into a world that can be exciting, dark and at times brutal, a world where my characters don’t always know who they can and can’t trust.

Review

I love this author’s books. I have a few authors I adore because they write great gangland crime stories. I am very picky when it comes to this genre, because even though I most certainly am not a violent or vicious person, I do want these stories to be tough as nails.

I want people scheming. I want people to be renegades and stabbing each other’s backs, but I also love people to be true to their ‘family’ and watch out for them.

Let me tell you one thing: in this author’s books I find everything I love so much about this genre and she really knows how to create characters and make them interact with each other.

She also had my head spinning because I really did not know who was telling the truth and who was lying through their teeth.

I love the chemistry between the members of the Savage family, the loyalty of certain people and although I love all the Savage sisters, I really have a big soft spot for Rose.

I don’t know yet how I feel about the newcomer yet. I like him, but sadly, I don’t think he is not very trustworthy, chasing his own agenda.

A great book I could not put away. 5 stars

Thank you

***

About the author

My books are gritty and hard-hitting. I love delving deep into the heads of my characters, really figuring out who they are and bringing them vividly to live. I find it fascinating how good people just trying to get by in life can suddenly find themselves dragged into a dangerous and frightening situation. My books journal the changes my characters have to go through in order to survive, as well as the dark deeds they have to commit, deeds they would never have considered doing before their lives were irrevocably altered.

Themes of love and loyalty are at the very core of my writing, along with their counterparts, greed and betrayal. Family secrets, bonds of blood, and friendships abound and only the strongest will survive.

My Husband’s Lies by Liz Lawler / #Review #BooksOnTour @bookouture @AuthorLizLawler

The police are coming, they’re going to arrest me.’ My blood runs cold at his words. My husband is accused of murder. He swears he is innocent – so why won’t he tell me where he really was that night?

I feel so lucky to have my handsome husband Mark and our blue-eyed little boy. Everyone says we’re the perfect family. I used to believe them.

But everything changes when Mark comes home from a work trip with dark circles under his eyes. That night I jump at a hammering at the door. The police want to question him about the murder of a beautiful, blonde young woman. Mark swears he had nothing to do with it, that she was a colleague, nothing more.

Mark is a respected airline pilot, and the model husband and father. It seems impossible that he would be involved in something like this. But he won’t say a word about where he really was. I believe that he’s not a killer – but I know he’s hiding something. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Then my husband is attacked. I sit by his hospital bed praying for him to wake up, tears streaming down my face. The police say it’s an accident. But what if someone has done this to him?

I go rigid with fear when I see someone hidden in the garden, watching the house. Are they coming to hurt us too? I’ll do anything to protect my precious little boy – and I have to start by uncovering my husband’s lies…

Review

Of course you trust the people you love. Love and trust do go hand in hand, because without trust there would not be any love and vice versa.

nAnd then the police knocks on your door accusing your dear husband of murder. How would you feel about that? Would you still trust him for 100% or would you feel the doubt creeping in your mind? After all, how good do you know really someone? Everybody has a darker side and things they want to keep to themselves, right? And, honestly, his behaviour does not help you to believe him.

Fortunately, there are some people who want to jump in and help you the best they can so you can have the time to dig deeper, hoping to uncover the truth.

And boy oh boy, you did unbox some nasty things…

This is a very enjoyable book. The author takes us on a journey through a web of lies and deceit, but in the end, as per usual, the truth will come to the surface.

I liked the characters, playing their role wonderfully, but I liked Mark the least. In my opinion he did not put the right persons fist. 5 stars

Thank you
