Review
My first book by this author and oh my god I was hooked. The author knows how to let her killer hide in plain sight, fooling everyone. They were cruel and very clever. They had to be to be able to survive what they went through themselves. Being treated the way they were, being lied to the way they were… it was heartbreaking, leading to people turning into revenge seeking missiles.
Alyssa has a family made in heaven. Well maybe except for the mother-in-law she would gladly return to the store and ask for a refund if she could :). She has a loving husband who understands what she has to invest in order to being a good detective, two teenagers who are being teenagers, but they are great kids.
This story is filled with heartbreak and suspense. The raw emotions are balanced by the feelings of love and the banter. When the identity of the killer was revealed I could not believe my eyes. My mouth fell open and stayed open for a while.
If I have to pick my favorite character is has to be Isaac, without a doubt.
Great book with an amazing twist. Kudos to the author for a job well done. 🙂 5 stars
