Death and Betrayal by Seeley James / #Interview #BlogTour @partnersincr1me @SeeleyJamesAuth

Jacob Stearne, ex Army Ranger and current Sabel Security operative, is about to propose to his girl when he discovers that “next generation” weapons are being shipped to our enemies. Some factions in the US government ask him to find the perpetrators while others work to make sure he fails. His intended fiancé does not understand his disappearance and he can’t give an explanation. When Jacob sets out to expose the billionaire intending to auction off national secrets, he is fired, expelled, and hunted by the government that once awarded him medals. If he ever wants to return to his homeland, he must insert himself into the dangerous world of technology smugglers. It’s a place where only the aggressive and ruthless survive. In the cutthroat world of modern-day pirates, every breath he takes may be his last. He must ask himself, can he outsmart the most corrupt billionaires in history before democracy is destroyed? Can he lose the woman he loves to save the nation?

1. Which character would you like to be in this book?

I would like to be as brave and tough as Jacob, but I am probably better suited to be a snarky Mercury.

2. Do you always take a book/ereader wherever you go?

Yes, even to the doctor’s office. When I go on vacation, depending on the length of the trip, I take one or two hardbacks, and an Ereader … just in case.

3. Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

I would want to be the good guy because I am bad enough in real life — according to my wife.

4. Do you prefer to read/write standalones or series?

I prefer series as it is more fun to have a story arc that spans multiple books.

5. Where can I find you when you are reading?

In airports, in coffee shops, in movie theaters, in my living room, and in bed.

6. Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

On the Kaibab trail heading down into the Grand Canyon.

7. Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

I can’t, but sadly I find them few and far between these days.

8. What are you most proud of?

All three of my children, one of whom I adopted as a three-year-old and raised by myself when I was nineteen.

9. What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

10. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Three things: 1) It’s harder than you think; 2) Read voraciously (like your career depends on it because …); and 3) Never stop studying the craft.

Thank you, Seeley James and Partners In Crime Tours
