She hates all Warstones.

Can this one win her love?

Balthus of Warstone secretly loved Séverine, even though she was unhappily married to his brute of a brother, then she fled six years ago. Now her husband is dead, Balthus must find Séverine and reclaim her sons as his father’s heirs. Balthus’ desire is to claim her too, and despite his battle-maimed arm and her distrust of his family, he’ll prove he’s a suitor worthy of such a courageous woman…

Q&A

Which character would you like to be in this book?

I’d like to be that widow whom the butcher, Henry, hooks up with. I know that sounds odd, but I didn’t get to explore her enough and am curious (must be the writer in me).

:

Do you always take a book/ereader wherever you go?

My kindle stalks me and tells me how many days I’ve read in a row (as if there was ever a day I haven’t). Might as well ask me how many bites of chocolate I eat a week, or how many cups of tea I drink. The answer to all three is: Every. Day.

:

Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

Given that I’ve decided to be the hook-up widow, I’m guessing I’m the good one. 😉

:

Do you prefer to read/write standalones or series?

Series. The longer the better. An author who has written a 58-book series and I haven’t read them yet? Bring it on.

:

Where can I find you when you are reading?

Errr…umm…in bed. I wake up and read. I go to sleep and read. Otherwise, I try to keep my phone as far away as possible, or…I’ll be reading again.

:

Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

Is this a trick question?

:

Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

Nope. Even if it’s just for a pop in. I’m lucky to have three independent bookstores within a short distance. My only issue is which one I’ll be heading towards.

:

What are you most proud of?

I adore my husband and two children. They are a constant fodder of love, pride, and surprise.

However, my book family may be a close second. In many ways, they surprise me just as much as my real family. And, in truth, when a certain someone eats the last piece of chocolate cake I’ve been saving, then the book family definitely inches ahead.

:

What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

I can’t wait to give them to readers. Truly! I have no space in my house, so look for giveaways!

:

What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Don’t stop. Ever. I wrote, put it away, wrote again, put it away. I always kept trying. Even if it takes years, then it takes years. You’ll be that age anyway, so might as well have finished the book too!
