The Next Wife by Liz Lawler / #Review @bookouture @AuthorLizLawler

My husband is everything I ever dreamed of. A handsome, successful doctor who swept me off my feet.

Our new life together is perfect.

He’s perfect.

But am I good enough for him? I never seem to get anything right. And I’m starting to feel a little afraid of the man I married.

He’s taken away my bank card and my phone. I don’t know what to think or what to do. I gave up everything for him and now I’m trapped.

Then a stranger comes to our door. She tells me that I can’t trust my husband.

That I should ask him what happened to his first wife.

Review

When people have a lot of charm, they can win everybody’s heart. A lot of them are really nice human beings, but some of them are the worst of the worst… behind closed doors. That makes it hard for the victims to convince the rest of the world what is actually going on.

They also can portray themselves as some kind of God, whilst blaming others for their mistakes.

Their victims are scared and don’t find the courage to escape, but when the final drop hits the bucket, some cannot take it anymore and act anyway.

I found this a very complex story and I like that a lot. It’s great to follow the path the author has flattened out for the readers and then finding out whether it was real or make believe.

Looking forward to reading more books by this author. 5 stars

Thank you
