Close to You – Kerry Wilkinson / #Review #BooksOnTour @bookouture @kerrywk

I pinch the screen to zoom until I’m staring at the face of a ghost. A man with very short hair, staring directly at the camera with piercing brown eyes.

He is as he was when I last saw him: wrinkles around the corners of the eyes and a knowing smirk. That’s the expression I see when I can’t sleep.

My body tenses. It can’t be him. It’s not my ex-husband. It’s not David.

I know that better than anyone because he didn’t walk out on me.

He didn’t disappear two years ago and he’s not a missing person.

I know that for a fact because I’m the one who killed him.

My review

Lately I don’t read blurbs anymore. It’s the cover, author and title that have to speak to me in order to choose the book. Kerry Wilkinson is most definitely an author you want to devour everything from. He always manages to leave you picking up your chin from the ground. That’s how far my mouth always falls open at the end of his stories.

With this book I could not help noticing the last sentence of the text on the back cover. That had me even more intrigued. Why? How? When? were questions chasing each other through my mind.

The ones closest to you should be the ones you could trust no matter what, right …?

You might want to reconsider that thought … 5 stars.

Thank you, Kerry Wilkinson and Bookouture (via Netgalley).
