Review

Organising a party is fun and being invited to one might be even more fun. That is most certainly true, but it also depends on the kind of party and who the guests are.

As the hostess you have a certain planning in your mind, but when the party goers don’t really feel like joining in and old wounds are the elephant in a room, it does not turn out to be what you were expecting. And you certainly were not expecting to find this before you even had breakfast…

To call the police or not to call the police, that’s the question… What would you have done? Followed in Hannah and her entourage’s footsteps or take a different direction?

The author really kept the name of the culprit very well hidden until the last few pages. Quite a few names flashed through my mind, but was this one one of them? I can assure you it was not. 😉 Kudos to the author.

Once again I realise that people kill for reasons that might seem banal to some, but to them really mean a lot.

So yes, the name as well as the reason why were total surprises to me. I love that. 5 stars.

Thank you, Kerry Wilkinson and Bookouture

About the author

Kerry Wilkinson is from the English county of Somerset but has spent far too long living in the north. It’s there that he’s picked up possibly made-up regional words like ‘barm’ and ‘ginnel’. He pretends to know what they mean.

He’s also been busy since turning thirty: his Jessica Daniel crime series has sold more than a million copies in the UK; he has written a fantasy-adventure trilogy for young adults; a second crime series featuring private investigator Andrew Hunter and the standalone thriller, Down Among The Dead Men.
