A Remedy in Time by Jennifer Macaire / #Interview #BlogTour @rararesources @jennifermacaire

To save the future, she must turn to the past . . .

San Francisco, Year 3377. A deadly virus has taken the world by storm. Scientists are desperately working to develop a vaccine. And Robin Johnson – genius, high-functioning, and perhaps a little bit single-minded – is delighted. Because, to cure the disease, she’s given the chance to travel back in time.

But when Robin arrives at the last Ice Age hoping to stop the virus at its source, she finds more there than she bargained for. And just as her own chilly exterior is beginning to thaw, she realises it’s not only sabre-toothed tigers that are in danger of extinction . . .

Q&A

  1. Which character would you like to be in this book?

I’d love to be Robin, of course! She was a great character to work with – she’s fearless, dedicated to her work, and can swear fluently in three languages! She’s got no past,  so she lives very much for the present. She doesn’t waste time and she makes decisions quickly – All of which are traits I do not share with her – except the swearing. I can swear fluently in three languages, lol.

  1. Do you always take a book/reader wherever you go?

I have an e-book reader, so I take a whole library with me! Unless I’m going to work, yes, I always take it with me.

  1. Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

That’s a good question – the good guy always wins and so that’s tempting – but the bad guy can be like Loki – with a huge chip on his shoulder and devestating good looks… Oh gosh, now I can’t decide! I mostly see myself as the sidekick – the Holmes to Sherlock, or the assistant magicien – and I will admit, I am a goodie-two-shoes, so I’d probably prefer being the ‘good guy’.

  1. Do you prefer to read/write standalones or series?

Honestly, both are fine, but I love finding a new series because when I get attached to the characters and the story, it’s hard to let go.

  1. Where can I find you when you are reading?

Curled up in a chair, either out on the balcony if it’s sunny and warm, or in the living room next to the heater in the cold weather. I read every night in bed too – with my e-reader, I don’t have to worry about the light bothering my husband!

  1. Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

I have a full time job in a medical office, and I love to bike to and from work – so during the week you can find me at the office or on my bike. On weekends I love a hike in the countryside with my dog. With the Covid-19 and the lockdowns, I’ve been frustrated with no chance to hike, but I’m patient and I’m sure we’ll find a way through all this.

  1. Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

No! (that was easy!)

  1. What are you most proud of?

My children – I say this without hesitation. They are good, kind, fun to be with, hard workers, and content with their lives – I’m blessed to be their mom.

  1. What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

I’m always thrilled – it really is like in a fantasy or science-fiction, and I’m about to step into a new world!

  1. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Read, read, read, write, write, write, and most of all, do everything with a passion.

Thank you, Jennifer Macaire and Rachel’s Random Resourves.
