Deira isn’t the kind of woman to steal a car. Or drive to France alone with no plan. But then, Deira didn’t expect to be single. Or to suddenly realise that the only way she can get the one thing she wants most is to start breaking every rule she lives by.

Grace has been sent on a journey by her late husband, Ken. She doesn’t really want to be on it but she’s following his instructions, as always. She can only hope that the trip will help her to forgive him. And then – finally – she’ll be able to let him go.

Brought together by unexpected circumstances, Grace and Deira find that it’s easier to share secrets with a stranger, especially in the shimmering sunny countryside of Spain and France. But they soon find that there’s no escaping the truth, whether you’re running away from it or racing towards it . .

Review

This author has always been one of my favourite writers. She has the ability to charm you with her warm stories.

I have to admit it has been a while since I read one of her books. You know the feeling : So many book, so little time and I never would have expected to be able to read one of her master pieces during a blog tour. I did not have to think twice. I was already rather busy, but I would not mind losing some sleep in order to fit in this book.

Life is short. That’s a fact. When you are young though, you always think that there is plenty of time left and often that’s quite right. Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you would have liked them to.

This story is about 2 women whose life has changed tragically. They seem totally different, but somehow they meet by chance and they click. By opening their heart to each other, they can help each other through a difficult period and are able to turn their lives around. Decisions are being made and they sad tears are being replaced by happy ones.

A lovely story that took us from Ireland to France and Spain. My head was filled with the beautiful sceneries and the riddles, my heart was busy soaking up all the emotions. 4 stars.

Thank you, Sheila O’Flanagan and Rachel’s Random Resources
