The Greenley Players are back practicing their Shakespeare and, as usual, things aren’t going to plan.
Sarah Powell is fed up with her sad single status and when her estranged father walks back into her life things get even worse. Can dishy doctor Finn MacDonald mend her broken heart and help her figure things out?
TV star, Nate Hardy’s career is going from strength to strength until his performance is interrupted and he has to flee the West End to hide away in Greenley. Will he ever get his career back on track or will Sarah and the rest of Greenley’s madcap residents capture his heart forever?

– When and where do you prefer to write?
Firstly, hi and thank you for having me on your blog!
I write full time, and as I have two kids (age 7 and 9) I write during school hours. I have to pack as much as I can in during that window but will often answer emails and do social media stuff in the evenings. Don’t ask me about school holidays, it’s too much of a headache!
– Do you have a certain ritual?
Yes, definitely! I drop the kids at school, walk the dog, feed him, make a coffee and then I’m at it! I always eat lunch at my desk without stopping, then walk the dog again before I get the kids from school. I love a routine and get all antsy when I’m out of it!
– Is there a drink of some food that keeps you company while you write?
Coffee in the mornings (I have a Tassimo coffee machine and love a latte) and tea in the afternoon. I might have a glass of wine if I’m working at the weekends, but not till after lunch!
– What is your favourite book?
Can I have two?! I love Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, but another favourite is Love Among the Chickens by PG Wodehouse. I love the humour and the amazing social commentary.
– Do you consider writing a different genre in the future?
I started out with cosy mystery short stories, that’s how I first got published. But writing in two different genres is hard. I know it’s doable, but for me, it’s more about the time. As much as I would love to, I don’t think the quality of my work would be as good if I was trying to write say, four novels a year!
– Do you sometimes base your characters on people you know?
Not on people I know, I’d be too worried they’d hate the character and hit me! I’d only ever do it with permission, but I do sometimes base my heroes on hunky actors I like! If only in terms of their physical appearance.
– Do you take a notebook everywhere in order to write down ideas that pop up?
I try to, but inevitably I’ll think of something when I’ve left it behind, like when I’m walking the dog! In that case I make a note using the app on my phone then move it to a notebook when I get home.
– Which genre do you not like at all?
Sci-fi! It’s purely a personal thing. It doesn’t appeal to me at all. I think it’s because when I was growing up I was forced to watch Star Trek the Next Generation all the time! My dad loves sci-fi and we always watched sci-fi films too. The only sci-fi I can watch is Star Wars because everyone loves Star Wars, don’t they?!
– If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?
Oooh…hmmm…I think it would have to be Wendy Holden. I LOVE her and I think I’d learn a lot along the way. Plus her books are so funny I think we could have a good giggle.
– If you should travel to a foreign country to do research, which one would you chose and why?
Probably Germany. I love Germany! I love German food, German beer and they have a rich culture that I just love exploring! Okay, now I have to set a book in Germany. (Why did I not think of that before!!!)
