Review

Well, hello creepiness. That’s the first thing I felt when I started this book and that first chapter pulled me in by the throat and would not let me go.

The story begins in the present and the author dangles the fact that there is a secret that can come out like a carrot in front of me. Little by little I creep closer to the truth.

Secrets… There different kinds of them. Of course everybody is entitled to have some. I guess there are always things you don’t want to tell or only to a happy few. Some secrets are innocent and a can kept hidden by telling a little white lie. Others though that are life changing for a lot of people, are due to come out sooner or later.

When something big has happened and you are a honest person, you want to do the right thing. Sometimes you are so devastated and panicking you let someone talk you into something you regret later. Because when you have to rely on someone to keep your secret, you are always bound to that person whether you like it or not. Desperate minds lead to desperate decisions, but maybe that’s right up someone’s alley?

There is no present without a past. So the author takes the reader back in time, to where it all began. The unravelling can begin. Each chapter gives a bit more away and every time when we were beamed to the present again, I was like ‘nooooo’, I want to stay here and find out more.

In the meantime, things started to blow up in the present too. Boom! Boom! Boom! More than once a bomb was dropped. I could never have imagined all that!

This author has written a great book where not so kind characters are eliminated. It’s also about forgiveness, second changes and love. Wonderful. 5 stars.

Thank you

About the Author

Liz’s story began in a refugee camp in Angola, where she spent the first eight years of her life. After that, she spent some years in Namibia (her home country), South Africa, and Germany. She now lives in Vienna, Austria, with her husband and two children. Liz wrote her first full-length novel at eighteen and hid it in a box under her bed. Several others soon followed it. Her passion lies in writing edge-of-the-seat psychological thrillers that give readers the same rush they would get on a rollercoaster.
