The Girl Across the Street – Vikki Patis

You’re hiding a secret that only she can see.

Her name is Beth. She came into my life when I needed her the most. We lead very different lives, but she’s the only person who understands me.

She was the only other witness to the terrible accident on the street between our homes. The only person who saw the cracks in my perfect life before I had the chance to cover them up.

It’s been so long since I’ve had a friend. Someone to talk to, to listen to, to laugh and dream with.

Beth would never do anything to hurt me.

She only wants what’s best for me, for my marriage

My review

This is my second book by the author and sadly the first one was not my cup of tea. But I never let my mind get clouded by the past and each story will be read with an open mind. After all that’s only fair, isn’t it?

Well, I am happy to say that I liked this one very much. It was filled with people you wanted to slap because they did not try to change their lives or others because the way the were acting towards other people, but that’s exactly what you need to achieve this result : a very gripping and intriguing story.

The book is build up by chapters told alternately by the two main female characters. By doing this we get a clear view in their heads and their view on the situation.

It was fluently written and filled with action and fear. I finished in a few hours, because I did not want to put it down. I had to find out the outcome as soon as possible. Nothing was going to stop me. 5 stars.

Thank you, Vikki Patis, Bookouture and Netgalley.
