What if everything you thought you knew about society was wrong?

Jodie Fletcher’s world is rocked on its axis when she stumbles into the knowledge that shape shifters are real. Not only that, but they have their own parallel justice system, which is endorsed by governments worldwide.

Jodie is drowning in a world she no longer understands and to top it all off, there is a target on her back.

The only thing it seems she can count on is the leopard-shifter who has taken it upon himself to protect her.

With their connection deepening after each encounter, and danger ever present around them, decisions need to be made.

Can they find a way to bridge the divide between their two worlds?

Q&A

When and where do you prefer to write?

I prefer to write in my writing cave. I have a desktop PC with a double monitor setup. However, I take notebooks and pens EVERYWHERE, and often jot down ideas or scenes when out and about, or on holiday.

Do you need peace and quiet when you are writing?

Quite the opposite. Music is a huge factor when I’m writing. I have a separate playlist for each character who has a voice in my books. They all have completely different tastes, some quite different from my own personal tastes. It can be a great thing when writing, because as soon as I open the playlist, the character flares to life in my head. It can work against me too, if I’m at the mall or in the car and a character’s song comes on the radio. Then, I have loud voices in my head until I’m able to get some words onto the page.

If you had the chance to co-write a book. Whom would it be with?

I began co-writing a book with an author named Sherrie Henry. Unfortunately, she passed away before we were able to complete the book. It’s been quite difficult to finish the book without her, even though I have her family’s blessing and I know in my heart it’s what she would want. I hope one day I am able to do so. In the meantime, I’d love to co-write with another author friend I have – Jay Shaw.

Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

I’d always want to be represented as the ‘good one’… despite how much I enjoy reading about well-written villains.

Who would you like/have liked to interview?

Stephen King or Neil Gaiman

Where can I find you when you are reading?

I like to curl up on a comfy couch with a blanket and a cup of coffee… but if that’s not an option, I’ll literally read anywhere.

Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

Spending time with my husband and three busy teenage children… If I’m not needed there, I also enjoy creating artwork, cooking, and crochet.

What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

No matter how many books I publish, I always have this initial euphoric rush of – I can’t believe I actually did it! It’s always a very special moment.

How do you come up with a title for your book?

I always find choosing titles difficult. For the Therian Secrets series, the titles were easy because they are the code names of the ISIC agents who feature in each book. Alpha Stray was chosen because this was the title on the premade cover I purchased – which incidentally sparked the entire idea for the book. It seemed fitting to keep the title. The rest of my books have taken careful consideration and many revisions.

How do you pick a cover for your book?

Most of the time I have quite a clear idea of what I want on a cover, or at least the concept of the style. I love searching for character models and background images on the stock photo sites. Alpha Stray has been my most interesting book cover choice, because I had literally no input..
