Savage’s Buck & Doe #2

There is a turning point in everyone’s life. Luca Savage knew his was the day his dad and brother were gunned down.

Nobody could live in North America and not hear about a mass shooting, whether it was in a school, a bar, or a shopping mall. It was sad, but Luca had been like most of society—desensitized. He always felt horrible for the victims and donated to their families, but once the initial shock settled and the money was sent, he moved on to the next headlining tragedy. That was before Ground Zero was Luca’s own family.

Tragedy has a way of changing people. When someone you love dies before their time, it torments those left behind. Part of Luca’s torment is that he can’t find beauty in the world anymore. That is, until he meets Brooklyn, a woman with no words who teaches him beauty is there, you just have to see it through the right eyes.

Brooklyn is stunning. To look at her, you would think she has the world on a string. If she wasn’t mute, she would tell you things aren’t always as they appear.

Sins, hers or not, and disillusionment have been her constant companions for most of her life. She can’t change people’s perceptions of her, but she can keep them at arm’s length to validate herself and the family she loves.

Can these two lost souls find peace in each other’s arms? Can the lascivious be overlooked to teach the most meaningful lessons in life? Luca and Brooklyn have to learn together that the people you meet on the journey are as important as the ones you end up with at the destination.

Q&A

Dear Els from B for bookreview, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time and effort to interview me in regards my book Lascivious Luca. Without bloggers, independent authors like me would never be able to get the word out there. Sometimes we don’t always get the opportunity to thank the bloggers for all their hard work, but I would like to thank you. Stay healthy and safe.

1. Do you always take a book/reader wherever you go?

I absolutely do not leave my house without my iPad. I have over five thousand books on it and I read two or three books a week as well as write six days a week. I am so bad, that if I am standing in line for a coffee or to pay for groceries, I’m reading while I’m waiting.

2. Say someone asks if they can use your name in a book. Would you rather be the ‘good one’ or the ‘bad one’?

I would definitely prefer to be the bad one because I don’t believe anyone is born bad. I believe something or someone caused that person to become wicked or misunderstood. Therefore, there is an interesting story and a chance for redemption. Have you ever met someone and thought that person was very cold or unfriendly, yet after being forced to be in their company you learn they are extremely shy, and you were wrong in your first assessment?

3. Where can I find you when you are reading?

I read everywhere and anywhere but my favorite places are outside in my backyard and definitely in bed. I have to read at least two hours in bed before I go to sleep, so that it quiets down my own characters that live in my head.

4. Where can I find you when you are not writing/reading?

One of three places either I’m with my granddaughters or hanging with my girlfriends or on date night with my hubby. We had four sons so to finally have girls to play with is what I waited my whole life for. The oldest is four and the new one is three months old. We love to bake together as well as do each other’s makeup, hair, nails and dress up in costumes. I’m embarrassed to say my four-year granddaughter paints nails way better than I do. In all fairness I had four boys so I’m great a fishing and building Lego.

5. Can you walk past a bookstore without going inside?

I actually very rarely go into a bookstore, unless it is a vintage store that I find on my travels. I love digital reading; I love the fact I don’t have to carry a heavy book and that I can change the lighting of my iPad at night, so I don’t disturb my husband. I also like being able to look up a word or a topic I’m reading or taking notes to look up a subject later.

6. What are you most proud of?

My marriage. I have been married 34 years and it feels like a year. If I didn’t marry my husband, I wouldn’t have the family I worship or tried my hand at writing. My husband has always supported me in any ventured I have tried and encourages me to try new things. I met him when I 19 and we dated for three months when he asked me to marry him. I was married less than a year later and have never regretted it for a second. I believe in romance stories because I have been lucky enough to live one. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t always easy, marriage is a lot of work. Also, I always knew I had a great group of girlfriends that would have helped me bury the body and he knew it. LOL

7. What goes through your mind when you hold your new book in your hands for the first time?

Every time I hold a new book it’s like holding one of my children for the first time. I become a real mamma bear. There is a huge amount of pride and love as well as protectiveness for fear someone will hurt my baby by not liking them. I created those characters, they lived in my head and heart for months while I nurtured them to life. I’m proud of each and everyone of them.

8. What piece of advice would you give to aspiring writers?

The sad reality is writers are like a grain of sand in a beach. There are millions of us trying to get recognized and it can be an insurmountable task. You don’t have to be a New York best seller to have a great following of readers just be true to yourself and your readers.

9. Who would you like/have liked to interview?

This is going to sound so bizarre but believe it or not I would like to interview a lot of the new country singers who write their own songs. I would love to interview Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Lee Brice to name a few. I never listened to country until one of my characters was obsessed. I in turn did my research and started listening so I could write from experience. Wow I fell in love with songs that were all like one-page books. I seriously could write a full-length novel for each song I have fallen in love with.

10. When and where do you prefer to write?

Writing became my job, so I have an office my husband built at his business. I don’t own a desk I have four big comfy chairs. I write from nine a.m. until at least six p.m. six days a week. I can’t work at home to many distractions. If we are traveling, I take my computer and work on the road.

Thank you, Anne Marie Citro and RABT Book Tours
